Mage
The mage is a pure illusionist and sorcerer. Rather than earning his glory by fighting
in the front line like the hirebrands, the physically weak mages prefer to overcome
the enemy by the use of magical spells. So that the casting of these spells
will not be impeded by their armor or weapons, mages never wear armor heavier than
a cloak, and typically carry daggers as their normal weapons. Because of the
vulnerable nature of the mage, he is usually located in the rear of the party, protected
from direct contact with the monsters, where he can throw spells at will over the
heads of his comrades.
