I would like to have the ability to enter a multi-line answer in the test mode.

Currently, when I press the "Enter" key, it behaves as if I pressed the "Next" button.

Is the 'test' mode really useful with multi-line answers? As it currently is, you have to type the EXACT text to match. Doesn't this make it too difficult, especially on phones?

The "test" mode is the unique feature Quizard provides that no other flashcard apps that I know of do, and it's the main reason why I chose Quizard, and why I always recommend this app to other language learners.
It is extremely useful when learning a language, especially one that has a very different spelling system, such as Hindi.
I even recommend it to Chinese learners, where they can enter Chinese characters using a hand-writing input method built in iOS.
Given that I usually use it to test spelling of vocabulary or short phrases, I don't find it too difficult to use, even on the phones.
As for the multi-line answers, I am trying to learn a programming language, and I hope to use flashcards to help me remember the syntax. It would be nice if I can include a snippet of multi-line code in the answer.
I concede that I do find it a bit difficult to use as I frequently need to switch to symbol mode and suppress automatic case change and auto correction.

Let me give it some thought. I think that having the return key do the same as the next key is probably pretty convenient for most uses (especially if your phone has a physical keyboard), so I am not sure I want to change that across the board. However it might be possible to make it an option.
