Please get rid of pit traps

I spent like 8 hours making a party of 10 players that consists of about 5 Elf mages/sages. I make good progress leveling up my party members except the mages/sages which most level 1 or 2 with less than 4 or 5 hits. I explore all of level 1 just to fall into a pit trap that kills all my mages/sages.

With the limited quantities of portal gems, I tried to conserve my gems by playing it safe while exploring just to have half my part wiped out by unavoidable pit traps. At this point I didn't have any thieves in my party nor had found the Gem of Danger which let's you see traps. Having pits on level 1 which will mostly kill all your spell caster is a lit over the top punitive IMO.

Sorry, but the dungeon is a dangerous place. Note that at higher levels mages/sages get a levitate spell which makes them immune to traps.
